This Week's Thought

Lately, I've been stressing beaucoup buttercups. I've been taking my anxiety medication, and that has helped, and also my faith (duh!) has kept me from stabbing myself in the eye with a fork.

This week's verse is:

You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you. Trust in the Lord; for the Lord, the Lord is the Rock eternal.
Isaiah 26:3-4

Loveys, this is so deep. It's been keeping me in perfect peace. It's so awesome to know that trusting in God is the only thing needed to have peace. As someone who suffers from anxiety, this is major. I've been repeating it all day.

So, meditate on that!

Jeremiah 10:23-24

"I know Oh, Lord, that a man's life is not his own; it is not for man to direct his steps. Correct me Lord, but only with justice -not in your anger, lest you reduce me to nothing."
Sometimes, there's nothing sweeter than knowing that God has the perfect plan. And really? It's His perfect will that we want to have completed in our lives. For me, it gives me an ironic sense of freedom to know that God is in control. Because obviously, I'm not doing such a stellar job on my own.

I also like the second part of this verse. Because God is all about fairness. So it's important to remember that although he has to discipline us (duh, because that's what a good parent does), He will do so fairly, with justice instead of anger (thank God because when God gets angry, bad stuff happens -hello? plagues anyone?).

Isaiah 14:1, 3-4

"The Lord will have compassion on Jacob (Smart Cookie), once again He will choose Israel (Smart Cookie) and will settle them in their own land... On the day the Lord
gives you relief from suffering and turmoil and cruel bondage, you will take up the taunt against the King of Babylon (craptitude of your situation."

So if you substitute the words Jacob and Israel with Smart Cookie, and replace the words King of Babylon with the words craptitude of your situation, you'll see how perfect this verse is for me! And for you, too!

The Lord has compassion! He's going to give you what you deserve! He's going to relieve you from all the poo and yuckiness you're dealing with!

This verse is about hope. Cookies, we're going to make it. Hold fast.
